Last Saturday night, I attended a birthday party of a friend. Since the birthday girl was busy moving on and about greeting people, I sat with her mother and some of her aunties since I knew most of them. I realized something that night... I am GREAT with mothers. I know it sounds strange, but I somehow, miraculously knew what and how to touch their hearts. Which then made me wonder.. how can 'they' say I am never the girl they could bring back home when I can do wonders with their mothers?
But I digress.
Anyway, while sitting with the mother and aunties, one of the birthday girl's siblings came with the boyfriend, soon to be fiance. I guess it was the first time the guy made the appearance in front of the relatives because from where I was sitting, I heard the aunties asked the mother, "sapa dengan blurgh blurgh tu ooo boyfriieeennndddd keja mende haa tu je??"
That last sentence just made me sick!!
SERIOUSLY!!!
Enough with this double standard attitude laaa aunty-aunty oiiii. Yes she brings back bigger cheques than him monthly. Yes she holds bigger title than him. But who the fuck cares? If he's a "somebody", you think he gives a fuck about you haa aunty?? And another thing...
Who are YOU?!! Aku tak kenal pun kau!! Kau somebody ke aunty?!!!
It was my first time meeting the soon to be fiance too that night but I instantly liked him. He's soft spoken, treats her like a queen, treats her mother and father like they are the only human beings mattered to him that night, and despite of his burning temperature, he made the effort to smile and greet everyone. And you knew he was being sincere because it showed in his eyes when he looked at her and her parents.
And the way he looked at her that night, I rest my case lah.
We all may not know how it would turn out for them in 10 years time. Maybe, he got tired with her making bigger money than he is. Maybe he got tired of trying to prove to everyone that he's worth it. Maybe he would just give it up. But for the sake of HER, why can't you just pray for her happiness and hope for the best, regardless of whatever money they make?
Right now, they are so much in love with each other. Let's just pray that they would stay in love for as long as they live. Because really aunty!! Walaupun kau pakai gelang emas sebesau leher gajah kau tu dengan tudung ala-ala Siti Nurhaliza jambul tersembul, you are TOTALLY a nobody lah. Orang tak kenal pun kaaauuuuuuu!!!
